cup mayonnaise
2 tsp spiced mustard
2 T chopped parsley
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 pound smoked turkey, sliced
1/2 pound Swiss cheese, or 8 thin slices
1/4 cup purple onion ~ thinly sliced
2 medium tomatoes ~ thinly sliced
8 slices rye bread
Preheat oven to 350°. In
a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, mustard, parsley, oregano and pepper; mix well.
Place 4 slices of bread on cookie sheet and using half of the mayonnaise
mixture spread evenly on each slice.
Layering
your sandwiches, start
with a slice of cheese, dividing evenly the turkey, onions and tomatoes.
Bake 10 minutes. Spread the remaining mayonnaise on the remaining 4 slices
of bread. Top each with a slice of cheese, then add them to the cookie sheet and bake 2
to 4 minutes more or until cheese is browned and bubbling. Remove from
oven, flip the cheesy slice of bread onto your layered slice.
